Roundup Ready test certified

February 14, 2002 -- The EnviroLogix Roundup Ready QuickStix test for soybean grain has been certified by the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards
Administration (GIPSA) unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture as meeting performance claims of detecting one Roundup Ready
soybean in a sample of 1,000 soybean within five minutes. GIPSA today issued a Certificate of Performance after conducting its own
evaluation and reviewing the validation data supplied by EnviroLogix.

The EnviroLogix Roundup Ready QuickStix kit is the first one-step rapid test on the market. The kit is room temperature-stable and
packaged in convenient, crush-proof plastic canisters. QuickStix can be used to meet export/import requirements for detection of the
Roundup Ready (CP4 EPSPS) trait.

Roundup Ready QuickStix were first introduced to the marketplace in October 2001 after EnviroLogix completed its internal validation and
confirmation from a panel of independent laboratories, all using multiple operators and multiple samples tested over a range of
temperatures and operating conditions.

EnviroLogix is licensed by Monsanto to develop and market tests for transgenic traits in a number of crops, including Roundup Ready
soybeans, corn, sugarbeets, cotton and canola. Other products developed by EnviroLogix include tests for biotechnology enhanced Bt
corn.
